2b's humble pi slyce
Pride is a symptom of a dualistic perception/conception of existence and the self-centered consciousness that focuses on concentric degrees of loyalties and competitors/opponents/threats based on the fundamentally adversarial separation of self vs other. This is very common to the pathology of an upbringing in a dualistic theology such as those originating in the Middle East, i.e. Christianity, Islam and Judaism, which have common origins in earlier anthropomorphic monotheistic systems.

I believe that all things are
but some things are a great
deal more interconnected
But we try to pretend, you see,
that the external world
exists altogether independently of us.
The ego is nothing other than
the focus of conscious attention.
You and I are all as much continuous
with the physical universe
as a wave is continuous with the ocean.
So to describe myself in a scientific way,
I must also describe my surroundings,
which is a clumsy way of getting around to
the realization that you are the entire universe.
In dualism, the devil's in the details.

In most of our human relationships,
we spend much of our time reassuring one another

I'm not interested in being a "lover."
I'm interested in only being love.
We are all affecting the world every moment,
whether we mean to or not. Our actions and
states of mind matter, because we are
so deeply interconnected with one another.
The game is not about becoming somebody,
it's about becoming nobody.

you're separate (which is the awakening)
